HERITAGE ALERT SYSTEM

Heritage Observation Reporting And Monitoring

What is Horam?

Horam is a non-profit organisation dedicated to detecting & alerting on the destruction of Natural and Cultural Heritage using innovative technologies.

As rapid changes impact landscapes, ecosystems, and cultural heritage globally, there’s an urgent need for innovative monitoring solutions. Horam delivers with a powerful blend of artificial intelligence and automated data processing to detect critical shifts using satellite images, historical archives, and 3D models. Our alert platform is designed for organisations, local communities, and risk managers, providing a global, multi-hazard tool to protect our shared Heritage.

Our aim

Our mission is to support cultural and natural heritage preservation by providing actionable insights, early-warning systems and advanced monitoring tools.

In today’s rapidly changing world, heritage faces new global phenomena and emerging risks that lead to its deterioration or destruction. Natural disasters exacerbated by climate change, urban expansion, mass tourism, as well as conflicts are increasingly putting cultural and natural heritage sites under pressure.
There is an urgent need to better understand and monitor these threats to ensure the safeguarding of heritage for future generations, and traditional methods are no longer sufficient to keep pace with the scale and speed of these changes.
Given the urgency of this situation, we created Horam, committed to developing advanced solutions to protect and preserve our shared heritage.

Our objectives

  • Systemise the collection of information on the conditions of heritage sites, to enable better diagnosis of the threats affecting them
  • Ensure equal treatment for all heritage sites, enhancing visibility of less-known sites
  • Alert decision-makers to implement preservation measures and protection solutions
  • Raise public awareness about the various types of threats that heritage sites face
  • Support the heritage community in their work, by providing essential information to carry out preservation and conservation actions for heritage assets.

Our methodology

New challenges require new approaches. At Horam, we harness the power of artificial intelligence to identify changes and assess threats to heritage.

Our multidisciplinary team combines advanced methods such as automated change detection and pattern recognition with a wide range of data sources to deliver comprehensive and actionable information to heritage practitioners and the public.

Our technologies

Our innovative tools allow us to assess risks and monitor changes to protect our shared heritage more effectively than ever before.
